The Issue

Throughout Oregon State University’s piquant and poignant history (in a distinctly subcultural context), the Corvallis Foramens, or the Corvo Holes for short, have been a locus for people of many shapes and sizes. Its walls, and its lack thereof, represented a sense of reprieve and celebration for the common man; and to the coterie of people who once inhabited this domain, it felt like community.

To not acknowledge the historical significance of the Corvo Holes is akin to refusing to acknowledge the significance of the printing press, or even 9/11; and although you may not have heard of the Corvallis Foramens, I believe you will certainly recognize the faces of those who once inhabited it. Kendra Sunderland, known as the Valley Library Girl, is one of the more famous members of the collective, and although she has gained the most notoriety and respect for her various works, she was not the only notable attendee. Johnson Wrangler (inventor of the RSM (the race seeking missile)) was also a notorious figure within the community, organizing events and utilizing his intersectionality with the white Maoist third worldists to maintain the Corvo Holes as a refuge from oppression and bigotry.

Other notorious figures include Lars, slated to portray Rebel Wilson as Skinny Amy in the upcoming film to book adaptation Goon, and Col On, inventor of the colonoscopy. Though these household names were not as deeply involved in the everyday fabric of the Corvo Holes, they are frequently referred to as historical regulars.

Due to rising extremism and cultural warfare between various groups within academia at Oregon State, the Corvo Holes are now facing demolition as a result of retaliatory actions attributed to the OSU Anime Club. We are intent on urging the City of Corvallis to amend this conflict in response to an unjust cause. We believe that with enough signatures, we can bring about change in the form of a stronger Corvallis police presence, or at the very least, a late night vigilante.
