The Coopers, a beloved local pub in Bretton, Peterborough, is at risk of losing its unique character and community spirit. Plans have been unveiled to transform it into a fully fledged sports bar, which would drastically alter the atmosphere and function that this establishment has served for years. 

Plans would see, the outside areas extended, effectively removing the pavements around the building, external tv screens added and the internal walls removed creating one long room.

We believe the plans will substantially increase the noise levels leading to the annoyance of local residents, the sheltered housing complex and care homes which are located within 50 meters of the pub and increased parking pressures.

Therefore, we call upon Green King, the current owners, to abandon their plans, preserve the status quo and allow the Coopers, who they describe as a proper local, to remain a community pub.
