Hi supporters,

On July 22nd, the Sequoyah Country Club advised that they will not agree to preserve the grove of 15 redwood trees that is the heart of this petition. They offered to keep only 4 of the 15 (out of a total of 175!!!) if I promised that no one would object to their tree removal permit and keep the terms confidential. However, I would not sell out my community. 

So we are continuing our fight and due to ongoing outcry, the City of Oakland has extended its deadline for public input until July 30th (see below)!! Please, please take a minute to write to the email addresses on this petition, as well as your local representative and Council Member Ken Houston (my neighborhood and the SCC is part of his district). The City advised that a public hearing may also take place. I will post all updates on this website. 

Let's keep fighting to save these healthy coastal redwoods!
