Save the Coast Redwoods at Sequoyah Country Club!

Save the Coast Redwoods at Sequoyah Country Club!
The Issue
The Sequoyah Country Club (SCC) has applied for a permit to remove 175 protected trees—all of them coast redwoods.
As neighbors of the Country Club and part of the Oakland community, we are especially concerned about a beloved redwood grove of 15 trees located between Oak Hill and Sequoyah Roads. While SCC is undergoing renovations, this grove, as well as others, can and should be saved.
Thankfully, the members of SCC’s Project Oversight Committee and the club manager have shown openness to community input. We ask you to please sign this petition to show how much these redwoods mean to our Sequoyah community.
As many of you feel, these magnificent trees are more than just scenery—they are part of the daily backdrop to our lives and vital habitat for countless animals. We deeply cherish this redwood grove, and many of our neighbors feel the same.
Please sign if you agree and want to help protect this irreplaceable part of our community
Important: The City of Oakland has extended public input period and is accepting public input until Thursday August 7th! Every voice matters. Please consider sending an email (reference tree removal permit T25-005) to the following officials to express your support for preserving the grove:
