Save the Chronically Homeless!

Save the Chronically Homeless!
The Issue
Homelessness has been ranked in the top three most pressing issues by over 70% of people according to the SFNext poll. Since the 80s, the homeless population has basically increased every year, despite various efforts to battle the pressing issue. Most action steps taken on by mayors have heavily included creating affordable housing units, which only treat the issue without doing anything to prevent it. The most effective solution to the homeless problem in the San Francisco community is creating a government-funded job creation policy and a homeless training facility because job creation is essential to prevent, not just manage, the homeless issue, which gives homeless people some money and therefore more financial security. And because a homeless training facility teaches the homeless the skills they will need in order to have a sustainable, independent job later in life, which will benefit them after their government-funded temporary job is over. If we gather enough votes for this good cause, the $1.1 billion spent on affordable housing will be redirected to my proposed solution!
