The Chant Market at Coastal Carolina University gives students a real opportunity to turn classroom knowledge into real-world experience. For multiple semesters, it has allowed students to test business ideas, practice marketing and branding, engage with customers, and build confidence as entrepreneurs. It creates a low-barrier space where students can learn by doing before taking on full business licensing and formal commercial requirements. Many students use Chant Market as their first step into entrepreneurship. Adding strict licensing and business requirements may unintentionally limit access for students who are just starting, exploring ideas, or do not yet have the financial resources to meet those standards. This petition is not against safety or structure. It is in support of preserving a student-centered, accessible learning environment. We respectfully ask Coastal Carolina University to keep Chant Market accessible so students can continue to build, grow, and gain hands-on experience. Students deserve a place to start
