I took care of a Grackle I found abandoned at a chemical plant for almost 2 years. His name was Crackle. During my time with him I learned that vets will not look at wild birds due to them being protected. He died tonight, because not a single vet would even have a look at him. Being told over the phone after telling them he was seizing that they were "Sorry", or in-person after bringing a baby dove that a coyote had gotten to into a wildlife rehabilitation center that they didn't have the supplies to save them so they euthanized on the spot and then say that me taking care of Crackle is prolonging suffering and I should bring him in. The laws that prevent animals from receiving care need to be changed now. Thank you.
