The purpose of the petition is to gather signatures from members who are concerned about the potential closure of basketball courts at the facility. We, the undersigned, hereby express our deep concern and strong opposition to the potential elimination of the basketball courts at Lifetime Fitness in Centreville, Virginia. These courts have served as a valuable hub for basketball players of all levels, from middle school to collegiate, as well as professional and overseas players for the past 23 years.

The basketball courts at Lifetime Fitness have not only provided a platform for players to hone their skills but also fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among basketball enthusiasts. The courts have witnessed countless hours of sweat, hard work, and dedication put in by players of all ages and skill levels. Removing them would be a severe blow to the basketball community in Centreville.

Having a centralized location like Lifetime Fitness for basketball activities has played an essential role in promoting fitness, healthy competition, and teamwork among participants. It has become a staple in the lives of basketball players, providing an inclusive space for people of all backgrounds and abilities to come together and enjoy the sport they love.

By eliminating the basketball courts, not only would the community lose an invaluable asset, but it would also deprive aspiring players of a platform to showcase their talents and grow as athletes. Additionally, the loss would have a profound impact on the overall well-being of the community, as regular physical activity and the opportunity for social connection would be diminished.

We, the signatories of this petition, call upon the management of Lifetime Fitness to reconsider their plans and preserve the basketball courts at the Centreville facility. We request that management recognize the significance of these courts and listen to the voice of the community, which strongly opposes their removal.
