The Issue

We, NBCUniversal, tell the fans, to bring Stumble back for a second season.

Now, NBCUniversal had made a devastating decision to  cancel Stumble after just one season, leaving the future of Headlston State Junior College’s cheer squad in the balance. We aren’t ready to say goodbye to Coach Courteney Potter and the hilarious, heart-filled world of junior college cheerleading.

Why it matters:

Stumble is more than just a mockumentary - it's a spiritual successor to television shows like Glee, bringing a fresh, comedic perspective to a sport that rarely gets the spotlight. With powerhouse performances by Jenn Lyon and Kristin Chenoweth, the show has built a loyal community that values its sharp writing and unique charm.

While the ratings might not have hit the "prime-time" marks NBC wanted, the passion of this fanbase is undeniable. In an era of formulaic TV, Stumble stood out as something original, daring, and genuinely funny.

The cliffhangers we need to be resolved:

We cannot let the story end on that shocking Season 1 finale. Fans deserve answers to the questions NBC left dangling:

  • The National Title: After that disastrous (but hilarious) final routine, will Coach Potter actually lose her job, or can she spin the "stumble" into a viral comeback?
  • The Tammy Betrayal: Is Tammy Istiny really defecting to rival Central Tech, or was that a double-agent play to save Headlston's funding?
  • The "Showmance": We finally saw the spark between the lead flyers—we can't leave their relationship in mid-air!

Why NBC is going to be wrong:

Focusing strictly on overnight ratings ignores how Stumble lives on streaming and social media. This show has the "cult classic" DNA of Community or Parks and Recreation—shows that needed time to find their rhythm and eventually became icons. By killing it now, NBC is throwing away the next big hit.

Our goal and decision:

We are calling on NBC (or a streaming partner like Peacock or Netflix) to reverse this decision and grant Stumble a second season. Give this show the chance to grow its audience, just like other cult favorites that were saved by their fans.
