The Falkirk council and their infinite wisdom appear to be set on closing down stenhousemuir community gym despite the following: 1. It is the falkirk councils best performing gym 2. It is used by hundreds of of high school pupils to keep fit and healthy 3. It sits near a massive council owned library that often sits devoid of people all day long, yet the falkirk council still think that closing down stenhousemuir gym and the thriving community of gym goers it hosts is a good idea. The closing down of this gym will likely cause many to quit the gym altogether as for some travelling to the next closest gym in camelon may not be practical or feasible. As mentioned before the gym sits a minutes long walk from a massive, underperforming library that the council plans to keep open despite planning to close a gym that outperforms it by quite some way. The Scottish government like to talk about their plans to tackle childhood obesity yet the council want to get rid of many high school pupils main form of exercise, this doesn’t sit right with me so I urge you to sign this petition and help me us save our gym.

Edit: I thought id clear this up as its causing some debate, i am not for the idea of closing the library but the falkirk council need to balance their books and it makes very little sense to me that they can afford to keep the library open but cant afford to keep a gym that is much smaller and does far more numbers than the library.
