The Federal Way City Council has voted to turn the Steel Lake Park Annex fields and park lands into a large industrial maintenance facility. The remaining soccer field would be surrounded by a heavy equipment yard, sumped refuse areas and parking lots for up to 100 + employees.

Millions of public dollars have been spent to upgrade downtown. An industrial site will not attract the kind of development Federal Way deserves and will lower tax revenues long-term. 

There are alternatives: upgrade the existing site and expand on 5 useable acres the city already owns.
