Subject: Petition Seeking Immediate Dialogue with Sonam Wangchuk and Urgent Reforms to Restore Trust in India's Education System
Respected Sir,
I write this petition as a deeply concerned citizen of India. Our nation's youth place their dreams, years of hard work, and their futures in the hands of our education system. When the integrity of that system is questioned, it affects not just examinations but the faith of millions of students and families.
The alleged NEET-UG question paper leak and the concerns surrounding the examination process have caused widespread anxiety and loss of confidence. Many students have felt devastated by the uncertainty and perceived lack of accountability. This has sparked nationwide demands for meaningful reforms to ensure that such incidents do not recur.
At present, social activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk is on an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in support of the youth-led Cockroach Janta Party, calling for accountability, structural reforms in the examination system, and the resignation of the Union Education Minister. Regardless of differing political views, his decision to undertake a peaceful hunger strike reflects the seriousness with which many citizens view these issues.
I respectfully request the Government of India to:
1. Initiate meaningful dialogue with Sonam Wangchuk and the representatives of the protesting students.
2. Take concrete and transparent steps to strengthen the integrity of national entrance examinations.
Ensure accountability wherever wrongdoing is established through due process.
Communicate clearly with the public regarding the actions being taken to restore trust in India's education system.
Prioritize the health and safety of all peaceful protesters while protecting their democratic right to express their concerns.
A strong democracy is built not only on elections but also on its willingness to listen to peaceful voices of dissent. Constructive engagement can help restore public confidence and demonstrate the government's commitment to students and the future of our nation.
I respectfully urge the Government to address these concerns with sincerity and urgency before further harm is caused.
