Save Simon Logan's 80s vs 90s on BBC Radio

Save Simon Logan's 80s vs 90s on BBC Radio
The Issue
BBC Local Radio bosses have proposed changes to Sunday afternoon programming across the Local network
Instead of local or regional programming, they propose an 'All England' afternoon programme. We already have national programming after 10pm at night and Sunday evenings from 6pm.
Simon Logan's 80s and 90s on BBC Radio Newcastle/Tees is the MOST listened to BBC Sounds programme for the whole of the North of England and is one of the most listened to BBC Local Radio programmes. There is a Facebook community online with thousands of members who love both Simon and the show.
The show is a huge mood boost for many listeners, not only in the local area, but across the UK as well as Australia, New Zealand, even America!
Dear BBC Bosses
I, like so many others, are truly shocked and devastated to hear that you are axing Simon Logan's hugely popular 80s and 90s show.
We all know it is one of the most listened to BBC Local Radio programmes, and Mr Logan is well loved and very very popular.
The BBC in recent years go on about digital and push the Sounds app constantly, and this show is well received on the app and station, so this decision makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Simon is one of my favourite ever broadcasters on BBC Local Radio and in recent years I have had the pleasure of running Simon Logan's 80s/90s Listener Group on Facebook - the group is an amazing community with thousands of members in which Simon has created through his brilliant radio programmes.
We often get comments from listeners who say they are housebound, or have bad mental health, or live alone, or live in a carehome, and Simon's show is a huge help to their wellbeing each and every Sunday. Simon takes time to reply after each show to every single member, that just shows how dedicated and thankful he is for his audience, and we are so thankful for him.
This is a community who LOVE Simon and want him on BBC Radio Newcastle/Tees, not only for the 80s and 90s, but to be on EVEN MORE. That, in itself, should ensure he is.
Please sign this petition to keep the show on the air.
