Save Shinkai Swimming School from closure!

Save Shinkai Swimming School from closure!
The Issue
For 22 years, Shinkai Swimming School has been more than just a place for me – it's been family. After starting there as a student, I grew into a staff member, guided by the exceptional leadership of our owner, Ryan. His dedication to nurturing talent has transformed not just my life, but the lives of countless staff members and thousands of children who have learned to swim in our community.
Shinkai swimming school has been based at The Sir Joseph Williamson Mathematical school for 25 years!
Our mission goes beyond just teaching swimming. At Shinkai, we’ve been an inclusive place of learning for children including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), many of whom have been turned away by other local swimming schools. We pride ourselves on inclusivity, making sure each child receives the attention they deserve in building a vital life skill.
However, Shinkai Swimming School is now facing an unjust threat. A private swimming school, whom also runs the hire company intends to close us and take our swimming session for themselves. This decision not only undermines our long-standing community contributions but disregards the deep connections and trust we've built with families over the decades.
Closing Shinkai would mean more than just losing a swimming school; it would dismantle a community pillar that provides hope, confidence, and skill to every child who walks through our doors. Many of our younger people rely on the unique specialist teaching we offer, especially for children with SEN. This change threatens the inclusivity and personal attention that set Shinkai apart.
We urge the Leigh Academy Trust and H2O to reconsider their decision. By supporting Shinkai Swimming School, they will not only preserve a beloved institution but also uphold the values of community support and inclusivity.
Your voice can make a difference. Stand with us in saving Shinkai Swimming School. Sign this petition to keep our doors open and ensure that we can continue providing exceptional swimming education to all children, especially those who need it most.
