The Shaker Heights School District is currently planning to cut Latin instruction entirely at Woodbury Elementary School (grades 5-6) and Greek instruction at the High School.

We believe that this is unacceptable, as this would devastate Shaker's Latin and Greek programs, and rob students of the myriad benefits of taking Latin and Greek.

Students will continue to be given the option of taking Latin once they reach the Middle School (grades 7-8), however since the rest of the languages will be offered by grade 6 at Woodbury, many less students will choose to take Latin.

Please help us petition the Shaker Heights School District to preserve our Latin and Greek programs.
