Save Semaglutide in Louisiana

The Issue

The Louisiana Board of pharmacy is attempting to suppress the use of compounded Semaglutide.

Compounded Semaglutide has been available to patients in Louisiana for almost a year. The vast majority of these patients have seen significant weight loss with very few side effects. The results are leading to improved health and quality of life. This will also decrease the incidence of multiple chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease, which would inevitably reduce medical costs in general. From a social perspective, it is unfair to limit this medication to people with significant means.

The Louisiana Board of pharmacy should take into consideration the impact this medication can have on our community and the potential impact of rashly removing this medication from the tens of thousands of Louisianians, who have already seen significant benefits. This abrupt action would likely cause many patients to revert back to a dangerous and unhealthy position.

We would like support in requesting that the Louisiana board of pharmacy hold any action to suppress compounded semaglutide in our state before they have done a complete study to look at the potential impact of this decision on our citizens.

The members of the board of pharmacy are responsible for the health and impact of such a decision on the citizens of Louisiana.

A small donation to support the legal fund would be appreciated, but a donation is not necessary. Your signature alone would be very beneficial.
