The Concord City Council is voting tonight on whether to tear out the rails that Scenic RailRiders uses — ending a unique, family-friendly attraction that brings thousands of visitors and tourism dollars to our city every year.

Scenic RailRiders is one of only a handful of rail bike experiences in the United States. It brings families, veterans, school groups, and tourists from all over New England to Concord. Local restaurants, hotels, and shops benefit from this steady flow of visitors.

Once the rails are gone, they’re gone forever. We urge the Council to pause this plan, protect Scenic RailRiders, and explore rail-and-trail options that preserve this unique attraction while expanding recreation for everyone.
