This old photo of Salcombe Regis was taken in 1900 and shows that the village has managed to fend off over development up until now. The pastures at the top of the picture are now part of the caravan site that overlooks the timeless views over the village.
Right now the 'powers that be' at EDDC will be considering what to do with these applications - that if approved, would disrupt the current seasonal rhythm by allowing all year round use of the Caravan Park for holiday homes and upset the peace and quiet of this historic hamlet forever.
