The Coalition to Save Historic Rahway River Park
Mar 19, 2015
We felt it important to give you an update since we just heard from our Coalition President, Kelly Tropeano, that we are running out of time to save Rahway River Park! Here is a snippet from an urgent email she sent out: "It has been confirmed that recent digging in Rahway River Park was for 'core samples', which is done prior to any construction to test the stability of the ground. Although, as previously stated, this digging is not for footings, this is the first step during construction. What has taken place thus far, only confirms that the County is going ahead with the proposed stadium. By the way, permits for core samples are required and the county has not provided them. We have NO time to waste. The Coalition has been in contact with lawyers (the firm that represented Cranford residents against Union County College) and they have advised us that the best way to stop the construction is by 'numbers'. History has proven that the more people involved, the better for our cause. We need as many signatures and bodies as we can obtain to stand up to the county" Since you are one of our valued supporters, and the fact we need to step up our campaign considerably, we need to ask for your help. If you haven't already, please LIKE our Facebook Page at: www.facebook.com/saverahwaypark Facebook is of extreme significance as it shows the County visual proof of the masses behind our cause. And when you write on our timeline, submit photos, and actively engage in conversations, these actions also provide the County with valuable visual evidence. So we sincerely do hope to see you over on our Facebook Page :) Another thing that would be HUGE is if you as an individual supporter picked up the phone or sent an email, and personally reached out to the local government officials. To make this easy to do we have provided 3-pages of contact information on our FB Page here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.880539965342795.1073741831.868587519871373&type=3 Just imagine the impact we could have if each one of us sent an email or made a phone call? As we get close to 2,000 signatures we feel confident that the County will have no choice but to listen to our voices and finally take us seriously! Lastly, your continued sharing of our Facebook Page and petition link is of course still imperative. We need to continue our outreach and ramp up our signatures as much as we can. Again thank you so much for your support, we couldn't have possibly come this far without you. Sincerely, The Team... at The Coalition to Save Historic Rahway River Park
