For more than 15 years, Plum Island Coffee Roasters has been an iconic landmark near Newburyport's waterfront, but its future is in doubt after owner Bruce Vogel was given eviction papers last week by the building's owner, Newburyport Development. Without any warning, he was given 45 days to relocate despite paying rent. If you have ever visited PICR, you know "relocating" isn't that easy. PICR is more than the great coffee, it's the location, the essence. It has become a sacred part of Newburyport and become a landmark, like the Pink House the Boardwalk, Bob Lobster or Oldies Marketplace.

COVID has been hard enough on small businesses and their employees. Bruce and his PICR staff are absolutely heartbroken and blindsided. The people of Newburyport and the surrounding towns need to speak out. We want to enjoy our coffee on the water like we have been for the past 15 years. Please sign and share this petition to your own network, if anything we can show Newburyport Development how much the community cares for PICR and the staff - we wont let them take it away without a fight!
