Whilst all other leisure facilities in Cardiff have fully re-opened, Pentwyn Leisure Centre is still closed. Pentwyn has seen no benefit from the use of the Leisure Centre by Cardiff Rugby or as a Covid vaccination centre. That money has gone elsewhere. Pentwyn is a deprived & forgotten area.

On June 22nd Cardiff Council’s Cabinet will decide whether to invest £5.5 million in upgrading Pentwyn pool and its other sports facilities.  Whilst Eastern, Splott, Fairwater, Maindy, Llanishen have all been refurbished, GLL wants to close Pentwyn pool permanently. This is the last public service in Pentwyn apart from our primary schools and we don’t want to lose it. 

We need Pentwyn Leisure Centre to re-open so our children can learn to swim and the rest of us can swim and do other activities to keep us fit.
