Penn State Mont Alto Men and Women's Basketball players became Penn Pals with Fifth grade students at King Street Elementary School in Chambersburg PA.

These underprivileged, beautiful, wonderful, loving students at King Street came to the Penn State Mont Alto campus for Lunch, to Learn how to play Basketball by the players, Become Super Fans at a Home Game and perhaps most importantly, think about going to college. As the cooperating teacher, Linda Einherst said, " College was not something these kids ever thought about " 

The point is, the positive impact of Penn State Mont Alto extends far beyond the campus itself. It has the capacity to change the world !

How do I know this ? Only because I've seen it first hand while working as Assistant Athletic Director at Penn State Mont Alto between 1993 and 2002. I am Penn State proud to say that I began that Penn Pal program and saw what a positive impact these Penn State Mont Alto Basketball players had on the lives of these kids

Some things can't wait and this is one of them. It will be 2027 before we know it and that's when the campus is scheduled to close.
