The Road Proposed across the Pattandur Agrahara Lake/buffer zone (EE/RI/M-Pura/PR/09/17-18) was rejected in 2017/18!
Residents held public protests and submitted a detailed petition (visible in the display pic), with specific reference to the non-desirability of the proposed road project, as it does not improve the neighbourhood, and in fact will congest and deteriorate the neighbourhood that it is claimed it will serve. The project was withdrawn.
However, the Govt has reissued the same Road project through a fresh notification (BBMP/C.Comm/ PSR(G)/895/21-22).
This is blatant disrespect for PUBLIC OPINION from our Public Servants!
Apart from the objection to violation of lake / lake buffer zone, this is serious violation of citizens' wishes!
The Principle of Subsidiarity as envisioned in the 74th Amendment of our Constitution, mandates that the local populations affected by the development project decide whether they need such a development or not.
The residents have not withdrawn their objection; our public servants have no business re-issuing this notification.
Our Public Servants need reminding that they exist to serve the interests of citizens, and not the vested interests of real estate lobby and land sharks!
