Hello Menards Area Neighbors,
Cassidy Topel, who joined the ProPEL Stakeholder Team, and I (Nathan Reeder) have an urgent request!
The US30 ProPEL Project is organized into "Levels". We are now at “Level 2” where design options for each intersection on US 30 have been published for public feedback until April 30th.
Please review the Draft US30 East Report. The proposal for our Parker St intersection options starts on page 89 (.pdf page 100). You may notice that one of the options for Parker Street is an "underpass". On page 92 (.pdf page 103) it says "The underpass alternative would elevate US 30 to cross over Parker Street and remove all access to/from US 30 at this location".
The concern is that it then says "Due to the high volume of turning movements and importance of access to downtown Warsaw and neighboring shopping areas, an underpass will need to consider how access to the commercial areas served by Parker Street can be accommodated by adjacent intersection improvements."
UNFORTUNATELY, adjacent intersection improvements means redesigning the Center Street or Springhill Street exits and routing all that traffic through our neighborhoods!
This is why it is so important for us all to speak up! Please take the time to Provide US30 East Comments at this Link by APRIL 30th and put in your comment that …. THE PARKER STREET UNDERPASS IS NOT AN OPTION FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR MANY RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS!!! Many residential access roads would effectively become on and off ramps for US30 traffic to a large shopping area. There would be no effective way to stop Google or Apple Maps from routing travelers through our access roads to and from US 30 East.
Feedback must be received by APRIL 30.
