Staying Informed…
This past week, an Amicus Brief was filed with the U.S. Supreme Court challenging California’s housing density mandates.
Interestingly, the law firm Aleshire & Wynder LLP — which also represents the City of Glendora — is involved. Participating cities include: Huntington Beach, Carson, Downey, Irwindale, Lawndale, Norco, Palos Verdes Estates, Placentia, Seal Beach, Torrance, and Whittier.

Question our Council Members via email, at meetings, or in person:
Why is Glendora not joining these cities in pushing back?
It’s clear — from this petition and from the city's own independent polling — that residents are overwhelmingly opposed to high-density development.
As mentioned prior, we anticipate that multiple entities may challenge SB79, including the League of Cities, the Council of Governors, and others.
Important: Tuesday, October 28 – City Council Meeting
Agenda item: Safety Element Amendment to the City General Plan
- Recommendation: Vote NO — pause for corrections and modifications due to fire maps, safety concerns, and high-density issues.
- Request: That the City of Glendora formally join other California cities in opposing SB79 and defending local control.
Can’t attend the meeting? World Series will be on... and or just life schedules.
There are easy ways to participate:
*Email your public comment after 5 PM on the day of the meeting, but before the public comment period.
These must be read aloud at the meeting and entered into the official record.
*Or, send your message anytime before Tuesday to: GlendoraPrideofFoothills @ gmail.com
We’ll compile and deliver them after 5 PM on Tuesday to ensure they’re included in the reading portion.
Please include:
- Your full name
- Your email
- Keep your comment to 3 minutes or less to avoid being cut off.
*This is a great alternative to have your comments heard and officially recorded — even if you can’t attend in person.
We are standing stronger together! Let's keep growing!
Thank you for taking the time. Your friends and neighbors appreciate you!
*We do have a screenshot of city website verifying the above, however day of while we verbally received confirmation items to be read aloud regarding numbered agenda items. Less than 2 hours prior to the meeting written notice was given the City no longer offers this to the public. While this offers less options for the public at no cost to the city. Creative options are available if you simply don't like public speaking, there are high school kids or neighbors willing to do this for their neighbors, reach out :) #overcome not #obstacles stronger together
