Save Our Village Glendora Station Plan/SB79 Opposition … No New Taxes!
The Issue
⸻ Preserve Glendora’s Character — Demand Community Input on City Planning Glendora is more than just a city — it’s a community rich in cultural heritage, local charm, and natural beauty. But right now, that character is at risk. The City Council recently approved the “Station Area Plan,” which includes: • 1,300 new housing units under 1 sq mile in the Village/Downtown area • 6-story buildings near the Metro tracks • 3-story buildings at Bennett & Glendora These significant changes were approved with minimal community involvement, even though they directly affect the look, feel, and function of our neighborhoods. The Council’s vote also paves the way for future citywide changes through a General Plan amendment designed to reflect this new “vision.” as stated model for entire city. If this goes forward without real public input, we risk losing the very character that makes Glendora unique. We believe decisions of this magnitude must not be made behind closed doors. We are calling for a clear city policy requiring genuine community engagement before any major planning or zoning changes are finalized. That means: • Public forums and easily accessible community meetings • Transparent communication about proposed developments • Real consideration of resident voices — not just checking boxes. Research shows cities that engage their communities build stronger, more resilient neighborhoods. Glendora deserves no less. Sign this petition to demand a future that reflects the values, voice, and vision of Glendora’s residents — not just developers and decision-makers. Let’s protect the character of Glendora — together. There are also paper versions of this petition, currently with hundreds more (live) additional signatures; they continue to be gathered in local shops and by individuals.
