Hello Friends and Neighbors!

You are amazing! Your signatures, your support, your sharing — it all matters. You’re making a real impact!

Kaleo Realty recently hosted an excellent speaker —Vice President of Public Policy & Advocacy at California Association of Realtors -  Jennifer Svec-Williams — who shared valuable insight about SB79. As a few grandpas around town like to say: “Don’t believe everything you hear!”  This woman works full time in both real estate and politics, lobbying in Sacramento for results that truly benefit us.

A big thank-you to Alicia Cole, who invited many local agents. You’ve probably heard her speak at several council meetings — she’s on your side and continues to advocate for the community.

There are many efforts underway to challenge SB79, which narrowly passed.  Just look at Proposition 50 today — nothing in government is ever truly final, and this won’t be either.

Now for the good stuff — the “rumors” (aka early updates)!

We’re hearing that the lot currently home to the pumpkin patch — you know, the one that sits empty most of the year — might soon have new life!  How many decades has this sat empty?  This is exciting and it's not a high-rise.

Our petition and all your hard work seem to have helped get the ball rolling. Word on the street is that the property owner will be in town next week to further explore using the space for community events — think farmers markets, food trucks, art fairs, and more! How amazing would that be? Imagine something happening there every week!

This is still in the early stages, but I wanted you to be the first to know. You’ve earned it! (If you’d like to know who shared this info — e-mail us, she’s wonderful!)

Be sure to follow along with updates at @northendglendora on Instagram — and let them know you heard about it through the petition! Give the project a warm welcome, wish them success!

Keep Going — We’re Making Waves

This petition has already made a visible impact, but our work isn’t done. The proposed high-rises and oversized housing blocks are still in the city’s plans — nothing has changed yet.

Please keep spreading the word, watch for any mention of zone changes, “upzones,” or “rezones”, or modifications to the general plan and make sure our city doesn’t rush anything through without community notification and input

We’ve also asked multiple times that public notices (like zoning changes) be sent through our water bills, so every resident stays informed. Other cities have done this for years — let’s make sure ours does too! Contact your council member and remind them it’s time to act.

Together, we’re proving that community voices matter. Keep sharing, keep showing up, and let’s protect the character of our beautiful town.

With gratitude
