Hello Friends and Neighbors,

Many of us walk or use our Village daily. As the holidays approach, we’re reminded of trick-or-treating, the Holiday Stroll, our parade, and all the traditions that make Glendora special. We are here to protect our town’s character and heart—for ourselves and for future generations. Thank you for being part of this mission.

This is a reminder about the Community Conversation on September 30, 6–8 pm at Bidwell Forum.

Let’s be clear: this meeting does not meet our goals, nor does it reflect the respect residents deserve.

Had the City agendized this meeting, all five councilmembers—each elected to represent us—would be present, not just two. That would have allowed accountability, discussion, and even a motion to walk back their wrong votes. Instead, we are given a “conversation of two,” which offers no real value.

Stay Focused

The topic is the Glendora Station Vision Plan—its push for high-rise, high-density development, and rezoning of our city. Again pay attention to any amendments to the city general plan or zoning changes in any form.

Watch for attempts to shift the subject to SB79 or other distractions. Stay on point.

Questions They Must Answer

  • Why were residents not notified for over two years (April 2023 to now) about major changes to our city’s style, character, and scale?
  • Why were no alternative style options ever presented? When you remodel a house, you don’t accept one plan—you review choices. Where are ours?
  • Who made changes during the approval process? Was it all five councilmembers, or one person behind closed doors?
  • Whose vision is this?

Metro’s grant requires “consensus.” Whose consensus? Certainly not residents’, and not businesses in the impact zone—many confirm they were never told about this plan.

The truth: This is THEIR vision, not ours. It deserves rejection.

Why This Matters

The lack of outreach is documented and undeniable. This plan destroys our city’s character. We support development—but smart development, such as:

  • Three stories maximum, many just twoRetail/restaurants on the first floor, offices second, housing third
  • Greenspace, setbacks, and designs that protect foothill views
  • A parking structure in the large lot east of the Village to expand badly needed spaces

This approach would grow our economy while protecting our small-town character. The “Vision Plan” does the opposite.

What We Demand

  • An outside audit of this process
  • An immediate stop to this flawed plan
  • Representation, not override—councilmembers must listen to residents

The Bigger Picture

Our petition is nearly 60 days old, with hundreds more signatures than any outreach the City has done. Yet 90% of Glendora residents still don’t know about this plan. At no cost, the City could have included it in water bills. Instead, they rely on a small Facebook post and selective emails—while managing a $60 million budget.  What else do they not want us to find out about?

  • This is not transparency.
  • This is not representation.
  • This is not acceptable.

Please attend on September 30 and make your voice heard. If you can’t, share the petition and help us grow awareness. This issue is not going away—it’s only getting bigger.

It’s our city, not theirs. Let’s remind them: Transparency. Resident inclusion. Accountability.
