We, the undersigned residents, family and friends of Campton and Chicksands, wish to express our strong objection to any further large-scale housing or commercial developments that would harm the existing character of our parish, contrary to Central Bedfordshire’s adopted planning policies.

We are particularly concerned that further development would:

·       Destroy the established rural character and heritage of the area;

·       Have a detrimental impact on the environment and the delicate balance of local wildlife habitats;

·       Exacerbate pressure on already congested local roads, increasing travel times, air pollution, and stress for residents commuting to work and other destinations; and

·       Negatively affect the physical and mental wellbeing of our community.

We therefore call on Central Bedfordshire Council to:

1.     Refuse any future planning applications that would significantly increase the scale of development within Campton and Chicksands; and

2.     Protect the parish’s rural character, natural environment, and residents’ quality of life in line with the Central Bedfordshire Local Plan and relevant National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) principles.
