Save our Veteran Owned Small Business & Help Approve our Conditional Use Permit

The Issue

Hello! We are Kyle and Cassandra Williams, the faces of Four Hearts Country Bargains, LLC!

You may have visited our little shop or heard about it, but we specialize in selling quality liquidation items at a fraction of retail cost. We love what we do and who we have met along the way!

We get asked a lot what our story is and so we wanted to share this with you all.

Kyle is a Marine (former but always) who suffered an unfortunate work injury while employed at his previous employer. He was gone from work more than he was home and has missed a lot of time with family to ensure we have a roof over our heads. When Kyle was injured, I was a stay at home mom due to back complications, so we were put in a tight spot financially.

We tried thinking of ways we could bring in extra money from home. I always had a passion for thrifting and selling items on eBay, but I had recently learned about liquidation. I decided to discuss this with Kyle and we took a gamble to see if it could help support our family during a tough time.

During August of 2021, we started our journey selling liquidation with the goal to help other people save money on items they may need for their household. We understand rough times and if we could help someone save just a few dollars we knew we were achieving our goal.

We never realized how much work it would be. This field definitely isn’t for everyone, but we have worked so hard for nearly two years to get where we are now. There have been many losses, long hours, frustration, laughs, tears, mistakes, and exhaustion, but we wouldn’t trade it for the world.

We have had many people who have supported us since we began, and family that are there when we need help. We have met so many kind people along the way and some have even become friends. Words cannot express the gratitude we have for everyone.

As new business owners we have done our best to ensure we are doing everything right to run our business, but we are human and make mistakes along the way.

Recently, we had a neighbor complain to the township about vehicles turning around in their driveway. This was a complete shock as we thought we have been friends with them since we moved to the neighborhood. Now they are doing what they can to try and close our business. If we would have known there was something wrong, we would have addressed the concerns and do our best to make it right, as a good neighbor should.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the route they took and want us to lose a business we have worked so hard for. A business that is our sole income to support our family because of medical issues.

Many people know what tough times are, especially with the economy the way it is. We have done everything to keep our business quiet and not to bring issues to our neighborhood. We get a minimal amount of traffic each day, and are only open for business Thursday to Saturday. Similar to what you would see at a garage sale.

We operate our business from our pole barn at our residence and online. We keep our business clean, and operate in a manner that doesn’t cause harm to the neighborhood in any way. We have adequate parking to keep vehicles in our driveway, and we are off the road enough that we aren’t noticeable. We were working on a permanent sign to ensure there isn’t any questions about where our shop is, but we had to put this on hold due to this obstacle. Throughout the year we give back to the community regularly through food and toy drives at our kids schools, and local clothing donations to area churches.

Our business goal is to have a retail space, but we are not financially ready to do so. Everyone has to start somewhere to reach their goals, but this complaint has now put us in a tough spot. A spot that may strip our business away from our whole family.

We have begun filling out an application for a “Conditional Use Permit” within our township. This would ultimately give us the permission to continue to operate our business the same way we are doing now within a residential area. This process that can take up to a few months, but we aren’t giving up and our customers, neighbors, and family are supporting us through this obstacle.

In our shop we started getting signatures to to petition our business to remain, but we cannot reach everyone within our township and surrounding community by pen and paper. We have customers who drive nearly an hour or longer to come to our shop and love what we do.

Now we are asking for your help! By signing this petition you are saying that you are okay with us continuing to run our small business from our home in a residential zone. Your signature would help not only our family, but many others who come to our shop to save money for theirs.

Our promise is to continue to operate the same as we currently do until we are able to move to a retail space outside of our home. This has been a very emotional end challenging time for us, so know that  each signature means more than you know! Thank you so much for supporting our business, family, and the community.
