Please sign this petition to Stop the unnecessary removal of 12 mature trees from the bank of the Grand Canal Tullamore located at Pearse Park. Proposals are in place for these trees and grass canal bank to be removed unnecessarily to make room for a concrete cycle path. Plans also include the addition of pedestrian/traffic lights at the top of the Clara Bridge (Cox's Bridge) Lock 27 and alterations to the junction layout to accomodate cyclists . This already dangerous junction intersects at Pearse Park, O' Molloy Street, Kilbride Street, Clara Road and Rahan Road. The residents of Pearse Park would appreciate your support in stopping these changes taking place on the grounds of Environmental, Wildlife, Pedestrian/Cyclist Safety and Traffic Congestion.
