Save Our Sibley East School Pool!

Save Our Sibley East School Pool!
The Issue
Our beloved local pool in Arlington, MN has been a cornerstone of our community since the 1970's. Thousands have learned to swim within its welcoming waters, and many more have found employment through its existence. For some, it is more than just a pool - it is an essential means of exercise and health maintenance.
The threat to close this vital community asset is not only an attack on our local history but also on our health and wellbeing. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), swimming is the fourth most popular sports activity in the United States and a good way to get regular aerobic physical activity. Just 2.5 hours per week of aerobic physical activity such as swimming can decrease the risk of chronic illnesses (Source: CDC).
Moreover, pools provide essential life skills education - teaching children how to swim can reduce their risk of drowning by 88% according to The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Our local pool has played a significant role in ensuring that generations have these necessary skills.
By closing down this facility, we are denying future generations these opportunities for growth, fitness, safety education, and potential employment.
We must fight against this proposed closure! Let us rally together as a community dedicated not only preserving our past but also safeguarding our future. Please sign this petition today; let your voices be heard loud and clear – Save Our Pool!
