We are Broxburn playgroup a charity run group who have worked along side West Lothian council for many years. When the Scottish Government introduced free childcare to families on low incomes we had no objections and worked alongside the council to extend our hours to meet the needs of our families.  We reached out to the Lotto and secured £20,000 to help improve our setting. We operate 5 mornings and 3 afternoons. 

A decision was made within the council to stop our funded places and offer them to only one other setting within our community . 

This will have a huge impact on our families who will now have no choice to which child provider best meets their needs.  It will also have a massive financial impact on playgroup. 

We would like the council to rethink this approach and help save our playgroups.
