Andrew Bailey is in charge of the bank of England and has today announced the 13th rise in interest rates by 0.5% to 5% the highest in 15 years. Inflation has started to ease but he is intent on smashing our economy to pieces!

Ordinary hard working people have been trodden down over the past 3 years with Covid, Energy and Food prices rises and now he wants to use High Interest rates to finally punish people.

How can a man who earns over £490k per year be really in touch with what's going on with the real economy and real ordinary working people lives?

He's out of touch and he constantly contradicts himself, he has stated that interest rates do take time to filter into the economy and make a difference. Inflation has started to fall down from 11.1% at the end of last year and currently at 8.7% that's a fall of 2.4% in 6 months. This steady progress. Inflation will fall back in the coming months due to fall in Energy and Food cost's and he could have afforded a pause and see response, before implementing another rate rise. But NO, lets take a sledge hammer to the Economy!

He seeks to blame inflation on anything he can think of, firstly it was covid related with supply chain problems, then it's the war in Ukraine, then energy costs. Now he is Insulting ordinary hard working people and blaming them for them for daring to ask for a decent pay rise!

This is probably the biggest insult of the working people I have ever seen, and shows how out of touch he his! He is leading the UK it the biggest recession we have ever seen and lots of small businesses will go out of business due to his actions, he will have no comprehension of the effect on peoples lives this will have.

He has many tools he could use to control inflation but he chooses the one that will keep the hard working people of UK down where they belong, working harder for less pay. How dare you ask for a pay rise!

He is in a position where he earns and exorbitant salary and is frankly out of touch, he has the wrong policies and a change is needed.

People like this who are very wealthy (along with the prime minster who is a Multi Millionaire) have absolutely no idea what the average hard working person has to endure everyday just to survive, they have not got a clue!

Help me get this petition to 100,000 so we can have this matter fully debated in Parliament and bring change before it too late and we all end up suffering for years to come.
