Save Our Charlotte Greenway: Stop Tepper from Trampling Public Land!

The Issue

UPDATE

Certain media outlets have recently weighed in on concerns summarized in this petition, and we’re disappointed that they’ve concluded the permanent closure of Cedar Street access and the ability for “momentary” closures of the greenway between the practice facility and the stadium are simply no big deal.

We’re aware that the greenway isn’t “going away”, and remain justified in objecting to our only safe access to uptown spontaneously closing for unspecified amounts of time.

Is any amount of semi-regular lateness acceptable to your employer, your child’s school, or your doctor’s office? The risk of disciplinary consequences or appointment rebooking fees is not trivial, and the team has many options that don’t further burden the public.

Tell Charlotte City Council: Don't Let Greedy Tepper Trample Our Public Land!

Thousands of pedestrians and West Charlotte residents rely on the Wesley Heights Connector and the Charlotte Greenway to safely commute to work and access Uptown Charlotte every day.

But if David Tepper, the billionaire owner of the Panthers, has it his way, sections of this vitally important public right-of-way would transfer to his private ownership to shut down whenever he wants.

Please step up to preserve pedestrian rights and public safety by signing our petition. We're asking Charlotte City Council to tell this rezoning request to take a hike.
