"Save our Cats, End Their Fears: A Call to Care for Furry Peers!"
The Issue
Stray cats are also cats, they have emotions just like us so stop treating them badly and start caring for them. These cats suffered enough everyday, some are not eating while some have diseases.
If we don't take action, these cats will continue to suffer from hunger, illness, and danger. Our (PAWS) The Philippines Animal Welfare Society also struggles to keep these cats under control and safe, so let's do our best to help them by simple caring for stray cats we saw randomly in public.
Here are some simple tips to care for stray cats:
1. Provide Food and Water
Place fresh food and water in a safe, consistent location where stray cats can access them regularly.
2. Create Shelter
Set up a basic shelter to protect them from harsh weather using cardboard boxes, old blankets, or outdoor cat shelters.
3. TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return)
Work with local animal organizations to safely trap, neuter, and return stray cats. This helps control the population and prevent more strays.
4. Monitor Health
Keep an eye on their condition. If you notice any injuries or illnesses, contact a local vet or animal rescue for assistance.
5. Socialize Slowly
If a stray cat seems approachable, interact gently to build trust. Avoid rushing or forcing contact, as strays can be skittish.
6. Find a Safe Home
If possible, help the cat find a permanent, loving home by fostering or connecting with animal shelters. Or if you can afford to adopt one, please do so! Take care of them by treating and loving them properly.
