Save Our Bungalows - Bollington

Save Our Bungalows - Bollington

The Issue

Stop the Demolition of 44 Social Housing Bungalows by Peaks and Plains Housing Trust.

Bollington has always shared its identity with a community spirit. People love Bollington and spend a lifetime living in and supporting the community. There are 44 bungalows on Crossfield Road and Kent avenue that are classed as social housing and are intended to house locals and vulnerable people to stay in an area they love and support. Peaks and Plains Housing Trust plans to demolish these beloved homes and in turn, uproot many vulnerable individuals who have lived here all their lives.

Demolishing these homes means tearing down the lives of many who require assistance and who deserve support and understanding. The motivation is clear: to make a profit off the planned 'affordable' housing that will replace the homes they hold dearly. This cannot stand. Where is the humanity in forcing eviction onto individuals who find comfort and safety in these homes?

The social and emotional disruption caused by this course of action should not be underestimated. We fear that the eviction of vulnerable individuals from Bollington’s bungalows is already leading to anxiety, stress and could have a huge impact on the physical and mental health of these vulnerable individuals.

We call upon Peaks and Plains Housing Trust, and all the relevant authorities to halt the demolition of the bungalows.

We ask you to align your actions with principles of understanding, compassion, and fairness. Let us not make a profit at the cost of displacing vulnerable individuals from their homes. Protect our community - our homes.

We Need Your Help - Please, sign this petition and support us in our quest for the safe and respectful treatment of every member of our valued community.
