As a long-time resident of Gresham, OR, I have had the pleasure of owning Cine Escapes Escape Rooms.  It has become an integral part of our community. This place is not just a business; it's where we celebrate milestones, share stories and create memories. It's woven into the fabric of our lives.

However, this cherished establishment is now facing closure. Our lease is due on April 30th 2024 and the current landlord for no given reason wants us out and will not give us an extension.  We have over 120k in upgrades to the building that we wouldn't be able to salvage. The loss would be more than just another closed door - it would mean losing a piece of our community’s heart and soul After five years of service to the Community.  We need to gather as many supporters to show the landlord that forcing us to shut down would be bad for our community.  We have one of the only family friendly entertainment choices for the city of Gresham and the surrounding areas.  A place where grandparents,  parents,  & kids can share a memorable time together.  A place that helps employers create team building activities that foster a tighter nit work force. The team that plays together, stays together. 

Gresham has been home to many small businesses that contribute significantly to the local economy. According to data from the Small Business Administration (SBA), small businesses in Oregon accounted for 99.4% of all businesses and employed over half the workforce in 2019 (source: SBA). The closure of this establishment will not only impact its employees but also affect our local economy. We employ young College aged theater kids as well as high school kids needing additional hours to become international thespians for graduation.

Moreover, we here at Cine Escapes have always been there for the community - hosting charity events, sponsoring local sports teams and contributing positively to Gresham’s social scene. Its closure would leave a void that can't be filled by any chain store or restaurant.

I urge you all – fellow residents and lovers of Gresham – let's rally behind this cause! Let's show how much we value what makes our town unique! Let’s save our beloved local establishment from closing down!
