Our current school nurse, Miss Brittany Farrell, is going to be replaced next year because she does not have a RN, and instead has a LPN. LPN's have 12-18 months of schooling on average, and typically provide more basic nursing care. I am of the opinion that a school nurse does not need a higher degree of education in order to provide us with great care. Our current school nurse is beloved by the entire student body, and has always done her job well. She is more than just a school nurse, she is known among the students as an adult you can talk to. A trusted adult. I don't think that should be taken away from us. I know that myself, and many, many others, would be very upset to see her go, so I have made a petition for KHS to keep her.
