Save Norwich Walk-In Centre

Save Norwich Walk-In Centre

The Issue

NHS bosses have put forward plans to close the walk-in centre on Rouen Road. The centre is invaluable to the city and wider area and was used by people more than 70,000 times last year. Without it, where would all those people have gone? It takes pressure off A&E and GP surgeries and helps thousands of people when they can't get a doctor's appointment, especially at weekends.

A survey from Healthwatch Norfolk shows how important it is.

The people who run it describe it as "invaluable" so why do they want to shut it?

A consultation has been launched by the local NHS with three options for the future when the contract for it runs out next year:

1) Keep it

2) Close it

3) Close it but recommission services to other parts of the city

NHS management say they prefer to do the last option, so we need to act now if we want to save it. You can do two things to help:

1) Sign our petition to let them know how important the walk-in centre is to the people of Norwich

2) Tell them what you think in their consultation before it closes on March 26. Find it here.
