Save Murray's Beloved Guitar Czar – End the Tariffs Killing Small Businesses!

Save Murray's Beloved Guitar Czar – End the Tariffs Killing Small Businesses!
The Issue
For over 30 years, Guitar Czar in Murray has been more than a shop. It's been a community hub, a first stop for countless musicians, and a place where beginners and professionals alike could find not just gear, but guidance.
Now it’s closing its doors, and one of the biggest reasons is something we can change.
Crippling import tariffs, combined with inflation and a slowing economy, have pushed this beloved music store, and other small businesses, to the brink.
According to Guitar Czar’s team, tariffs have raised prices from manufacturers so steeply that even loyal customers can’t keep up. And they’re not alone. Across the country, small music shops are being squeezed out by rising costs that result from federal trade policy, not just market forces.
The biggest culprit? Ongoing tariffs on imported musical instruments and parts, kept in place and expanded under President Trump.
These tariffs hurt small business owners far more than the big retailers or e-commerce giants. Independent shops — the ones that know your name, teach your kids, and fix your first guitar — are forced to charge more just to break even. In a time when families are already struggling to afford food, rent, and healthcare, that’s a death sentence for local businesses.
We’re calling on President Donald Trump to end these harmful tariffs now and give small shops like Guitar Czar a fighting chance.
Let’s not let corporate chains and online megastores be the only option left. Let’s save spaces that care about music, people, and community.
If you believe in supporting local music, local jobs, and local dreams, sign this petition to demand action. Let Guitar Czar’s closure be a wake-up call — not the end of the story.
End the tariffs. Save our music stores. Support small businesses.
