The Mullumbimby Chamber of Commerce & Community ask you to sign this petition to save 2 historical & important buildings in the heart of the town. 

The two assets in Mullumbimby are the Railway Cottage and Railway Station both of historic importance and are greatly valued for their potential future community use. Both are currently boarded up & in a neglected state.  We have been told that these buildings are to be demolished. This information has been sourced from those who have used these buildings recently.

The section of rail corridor that contains these two buildings is being transferred from Transport 4 NSW to Byron Shire Council. Transport 4 NSW have advised they will get behind whatever Council resolves. There is a desire to open engagement with Council and Transport 4 NSW to ensure both are made safe from the weather & both retained & renovated.  Whether these buildings are for our future Rail Trail, multimodal transport, railway corridor or community use they need to be preserved due to their heritage value and significance.  This petition will be presented to the next Council meeting.
