We have recently learned of urgent news regarding the future of Morningside K-8 Academy's beloved Spanish and French Magnet Program.

With the start of the school year just weeks away, our two dedicated language magnet teachers have been reassigned or surplussed by the district.

This decision directly threatens the very heart of our program and the exceptional education our children are receiving. This change will immediately impact 212 magnet students who specifically chose Morningside K-8 for its unique and invaluable language immersion opportunities. 

Losing these teachers isn't just a staffing change; it's a direct blow to the specialized instruction and immersive environment our children were promised. Without our dedicated Spanish and French teachers, the cornerstone of our magnet program is at risk of crumbling.

We are respectfully imploring the district to reinstate our Spanish and French Magnet teachers immediately or swiftly secure highly qualified replacements.

Our children deserve the continuity of the exceptional language education they enrolled for, especially with the school year just around the corner.
This program is a source of pride for our school and community. Let's stand together to protect it for our children and for generations to come.
