We all know that Chuck E Cheese’s has been known for (lately) removing their animatronics from numerous locations across the U.S. With this being said, renovations are coming quicker than expected, which is a problem.

Why is it such a problem you ask? As stated before, the renovation is notoriously known for removing its animatronics, which is literally the one thing that made them stand out from other places. They’ve basically been known just because of the animatronics. There ain’t no way I’m gonna grow up with a Tv wall and dance floor because at that point, it doesn’t even feel like a CEC anymore. Also how are the animatronics even creepy? Sure, they might have issues, which can look creepy, but they’re animatronics. What do you expect? 

Now I myself am one of thousands, maybe even millions of CEC fans that oppose to this idea, and just like all of the super-fans, I basically grew up with CEC. I remember going to CEC for the first time (my location was Webster, TX) around 2011 (age 3) and I remember seeing the animatronic for the first time. I wasn’t scared, I was fascinated because I had never seen anything like that before. As the years went by, CEC was almost always my favorite entertainment place ever. The last time I went in September 2018, it was no different. Then after that, I basically forgot about them. Fast forward to March 2024 and I wanted to look back on my favorite childhood place. But when I looked at the recent Google photos, I was dumbfounded. The place I was now looking at was unrecognizable. I later learned that about 5 years before (August 2019) they decided to give my location 2.0 which we all know what that did. I just sat there flabbergasted, beyond furious, confused, and most importantly, heartbroken. 
Why would they do this? Why change the one thing that the company is literally built upon? As I’m writing this, I’m aware there’s probably going to be another location soon removing an animatronic that’s likely in working condition. 
While I’m aware the animatronics can’t be reinstalled, we can work hard to save other locations. Even if it doesn’t work out, it’s better to try than not. It’s a pain that now the closet location with an animatronic is like 4 HOURS away!! Unfortunately though, there isn’t a whole lot of time left as more and more locations are removing their animatronics.
