It has been brought to my attention, a deeply concerning situation involving the neglect and mistreatment of horses at mooloolah valley riding centre. Despite numerous attempts to help, reports made to the RSPCA and Department of primary industries over many years, no significant action has been taken to address this issue. The persons involved have used the excuse that we have been bullying them and causing problems to get away with what they’ve done and continue to do. It’s allowing the suffering of these animals to continue.

Horses at this riding centre are underfed and overworked, with many visibly emaciated to the point of showing their bones. They do not get the basic care and treatments they need to remain healthy and do their jobs. They suffer from untreated illnesses and injuries, and it appears the staff and owner attempt to conceal their condition by putting rugs on the horses to hide their poor state from public view. The owner has denied numerous times about any mistreatment and claims that the horses are well cared for. Which is definitely not the case when there are many witnesses, past customers, former and current employees and volunteers who have confirmed the neglect with evidence.

Efforts to offer rehabilitation for these horses have been ignored by the owner or responded to with aggression, denial and individuals associated with protests or reports about the centre face being banned from the property. This pattern of intimidation further underlines the urgent need for external intervention.

It is imperative that real action is taken to protect these animals and prevent further harm.

I believe mainstream media is at an advantage and positioned to investigate this matter, shed light on the truth and drive meaningful change. I can provide detailed accounts, including testimonies from witnesses, to support your investigation and assist in exposing the significance of this situation.

RSPCA, Stock Control, Bio security and DPI have received many reports over the past 20+ years. They say they take past reports into consideration but I believe they do not as this is a recurring issue.

These hardworking horses need to be saved, rehabilitated and rehomed to a forever home where they will get the care and love they deserve.

Department of primary industries are taking on this investigation. They have attended the property and what horses were still there they believe their body score is acceptable which any educated horse people will tell you this is incorrect. It has also come to my attention that DPI are working out if this is a serious case or just members of the public bullying the owner. This is why no further action has taken place in the past as the owner cries poor and states its simply bulling. It's extremely frustrating the fact no department is taking this seriously. After many attempts in the past, I'm hoping with this petition this will bring enough attention to finally make a change and save those horses before anymore die.
