As we head into St. Patrick's Day weekend, I am happy to tell everyone that our efforts, like the trees, are starting to bloom and show new life! We are hopeful that the TIRZ, with a push from the city and Mayor Whitmire, will do the right and logical thing to make tree-preserving changes to the Montrose Blvd project.
Upcoming TIRZ meeting on Monday 3/18
But we need all of you to continue to make your voices heard! Keeping Houston GREEN MEANS GO to the 3/18 TIRZ meeting and speaking, even just for one minute, to say "I support changing the design of this project to pour less concrete and preserve the mature trees. We can make Montrose sidewalks and street crossings safe and accessible without over-engineering and killing so many trees. Please change your design."
Come to the TIRZ board meeting on Monday 3/18, 6:30pm at the Havens Center on 1827 W. Alabama (purple building). Or register too attend via Zoom https://tinyurl.com/cynfuu47
You can review their new 100% plan that has been posted on their website under "Projects" and give your opinion or ask questions about it at the 3/18 meeting.

ACTION TO TAKE RIGHT NOW: New Mayor and new City council members means we need you to send more emails!
Yes, many of you did it before (thank you!). But could you please do it again? The new mayor and at-large council members need to hear how MANY of you were not adequately informed about this project until last fall (when we became very noisy about it). And they need to hear how strongly you support a change to a rational design that pours less concrete and saves our mature trees. Please send email to everyone listed below:
