PETITION AGAINST MEMORIAL PARK/CEMETERY
We, the citizens of Sioux City, Iowa & surrounding towns and communities, are filing this petition against the owners of the park operated by EVERSTORY PARTNERS. We have, with NO SUCCESS over a period of 18 to 20 years, watched this beautiful park deteriorate. The roads are IMPASSABLE, the roads need completely done, along with the sidewalks in each section, through the entire park, not just the front!  The trees have been cut down along roadsides of the cemetery  WITHOUT BEING REPLACED, the ornamental trees in the middle of each section have been planted and placed there by families, not the Corporate Office. There are many trees that are rotted and need to be cut down, making the cemetery a horrible sight.  Hedges need to be replaced in several locations, the whole front of the entrance, left side and right side of the entrance, and Roses back on the ledge of ROSE HILL SECTION. Watering spickots have been shut down, because of deterioration, so people cannot do their watering and cleaning needs. Maintaining of the lawn is not kept up, not being mowed FREQUENTLY and needs to be mowed at higher settings, to prevent all the damage they have done to the markers. CONTROLLING OF WEEDS with a granular or spray weed control. Painting of signs are ignored and are rotting. The ducks and fowl, need a shelter, from prey in the middle of the night & bad storms that come through.  The Park needs to have opening and closure of the Park every day, with a gate, to stop vandalism and unlawful activity in the Private Park/Cemetery. The park also NEEDS a huge directory in a Pavilion Style at the beginning of the cemetery, it is a Hugh Park, which should be established to help families and visitors locate their loved ones and friends! The Clock Tower is a center point of the Cemetery and has also been left to Rot.
THIS PETITION IS NOT A REFLECTION ON THE CURRENT EMPLOYEES, THEY COME TO THEIR JOB DOING THE ABSOLUTE BEST TO CONTROL ANGRY UPSET FAMILIES. AND DO NOT HAVE THE MEANS OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT FROM CORPORATE OFFICE, www.everstorypartners.com                                                  THIS PETITION IS DIRECTED TOWARDS THE CORPORATE OFFICE WHICH HAS NO REGARDS FOR THE MONEY THEY HAVE TAKEN IN FROM FAMILIES AND GONE BACK ON THEIR WORD AND HAVE BREACHED OUR CONTRACT. TO KEEP THIS PARK LOOKING BEAUTIFUL, WHICH THEY INFORMED PEOPLE WHEN PURCHASING IN THIS PARK/CEMETERY, HAS AN PERPETUAL FUND TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PLACE.
THEY DO THIS WITH NO REGARDS TO CITIZENS OF SIOUX CITY, IOWA AND SURROUNDING AREAS, OR TAKING CARE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES, PAST AND PRESENT. WHO HAVE GONE FAR AND BEYOND THEIR JOB DESCRIPTIONS. THEY ARE UNFORTUNATELY THE GROUP WHO IS ON WATCH OF THIS LOCATION AT THIS TIME, BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE, THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR 18 TO 20 YEARS OF IGNORING AND DECAY OF THIS ONCE BEAUTIFUL PARK/CEMETERY. THIS IS NO REFLECTION ON CURRENT EMPLOYEES!
