Save McLure Library

The Issue

At the University of Alabama, McLure Library is the leading place for the education students to receive their needed materials. McLure Library holds materials meant for students to use inside the elementary school classroom, as well as children's books needed for many of our classes. This library was built in 1925, and has been the main resource for the education department for almost 100 years. The faculty, staff, students, and grad students need McLure Library, and use the resources daily.

In summer of 2023, the University of Alabama is planning to close McLure Library to change it into a class building for one of the other departments. This is unacceptable to the education department, as McLure Library is a need for the students as well as the staff. Without McLure Library, the students will no longer have on-campus access to the materials used in classes, as well as our placements in the Tuscaloosa School Systems. Please help us save McLure Library!
