NCC are to close Mayton recycle centre in September 2023. Allegedly, this is to make bottom line savings of £70k. However, this is a false economy as people will need to travel along the NDR to the Norwich tip. The carbon footprint involved in thousands of journeys has not been taken into account. Furthermore, the amount of fly tipping in Broads villages will increase with people damaging our lovely countryside with household and sometimes hazardous waste.
