Save Local Wildlife in Ulladulla by 50% with More Wildlife Signs
The issue
One in every 41 casualty crashes on country roads involves a vehicle hitting an animal. Kangaroos, wombats, and stray stock can move fast and be extremely unpredictable. When animals stray onto the road it’s hard to know what they’ll do next. Slowing down and being prepared, could save a collision or even save your life.
Many tourists and unfamiliar locals don’t know where the local wildlife like to graze grass and cross roads which is causing too many kangaroos, echidnas, wombats, wallabies, frogs, turtles, and lizards to be slaughtered on our roads. This leaves babies without parents, gripping to their parents dead bodies for warmth who later die of starvation. This causes population levels to decrease and reduce chances of the species repopulating. Animals being killed at this rate will leave them defenceless and endangered.
Sign this petition to help show the council that Kings Point drive, the Princes Highway exiting and entering Burrill Lake, and the Princes Highway at every exit (Pointer Road, Little Forest Road, Murrays Road, etc) up to Nowra, needs any or more wildlife warning signs to inform drivers of the native wildlife. This includes who to call in an emergency
Kings Point have none and locals constantly see slaughtered kangaroos. Burrill Lake have none and caravans have been squashing reptiles. The highway is a death trap for all creatures.
